Pedigree Livestock Services (PLS) is delighted to announce its appointment as the new administrative partner for the Sussex Cattle Society, effective 1 April 2026. This new collaboration further strengthens PLS’s growing role as a trusted partner for cattle and sheep breed societies across the UK.

The Sussex Cattle Society has a long and proud history of maintaining and improving the Sussex breed, supporting members through herd books, breed promotion, and society sales.

PLS will provide comprehensive administrative services to the Sussex Cattle Society, including membership administration, registrations, marketing and promotion of the breed and day‑to‑day office support. This partnership builds on PLS’s existing work with a growing portfolio of cattle and sheep societies and national events, reflecting a period where the business is going from strength to strength.

Justin Harmer, Chairman of the Sussex Cattle Society, said: “Bringing Pedigree Livestock Services on board as our administrative partner is an important and positive step for the Society. As our work for members continues to grow, it is vital that we have robust, efficient systems behind the scenes. Partnering with a specialist team that understands pedigree livestock administration means our Council and breeders can stay focused on breeding, marketing and promoting quality Sussex cattle, confident that the day‑to‑day administration is in safe hands.”

Steph Ryder of Pedigree Livestock Services said:
“We’re really pleased to be working with the Sussex Cattle Society and to be backing another of Britain’s well-known native breeds. At the end of the day, we’re all about keeping things simple and running smoothly. By bringing together good people, tried-and-tested ways of working, and the right systems, we aim to make life easier for the members and enable the society space to focus on their breed. PLS is going from strength to strength, and this partnership shows how we can work side by side with breed societies to give them the solid support they need for the future.”

The partnership is in place from 1st April; both organisations are looking forward to working closely together to support breeders, strengthen the Society, and help secure a strong future for the Sussex breed.
